There were many advertising styles in the early 1960s. Here's one of them, with a serious-looking man talking directly ("pitch") about the product, with little or no emphasis on entertainment value. This style of advertising is much-mocked, both at the time and in later years.

"Captain Video and His Video Rangers" episode from circa 1950. This series aired on the DuMont Television Network from 1949 to 1955 and was the first sci-fi series on American television. Over 1000 episodes were aired, of which about 24 survive. This episode was written by MC Brock and stars Richard Coogan. It was broadcast live each weekday. The show spawned at least 3 spin-offs of which nothing survives.

Two public domain musical recordings from the 1950's, sung by Gisele MacKenzie. Both are from the TV series "Your Hit Parade", and "Count Your Blessings" is a good example of 1950's pop music ("Heartbreak Hotel" is done as a comedy number, although it's still good).

Episode of the 1954-1955 sitcom "Meet Corliss Archer" called 'Male Ego'. This episode is slightly ahead of it's time; Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you to decide. The cast mainly did New York stage work, despite the distinctly "TV for those who love TV" feel of the show. Indeed, Ann Baker hardly did any other TV work after this, despite obviously being a good actress. Mary Brian was a former silent film star.
